The default Google Chat statuses are:
- Active – Gmail or Google Chat is open.
- Do not disturb – Google Chat notifications are muted (for Google Workspace accounts, this is visible at the domain level only).
- Away – You aren’t connected to the internet OR you’ve been idle for more than 10 minutes OR you’re in “Set as away” status.
- Idle – You’ve been inactive in Gmail or Google Chat for the last 5 minutes.
To let others know about your availability, you can change your Google Chat status. Keep in mind that only people you share a chat room/space with and those you’ve accepted a chat invite from can see your status.
To change the statis
Open Gmail/ Google Chat/ Workspace and click on the status button (top right).
You can set the custom Status also
